Janet Fogg
This original design by Janet utilizes two seamed ultra sateens for the water background. The maori design is a very large discharged ultra sateen that was hand cut and appliqued on the water. The flying geese and the inside of the canoe are ultra sateen blends and the rope lashing on the canoe is shibori.
Fabrics featured: Ultra sateen, discharge and shibori

The oval quilting on the shibori emphasizes the rope lashing as well as the wood grain quilting on the boat and the bubbles in the water.

This quilt uses the monkey wrench block and the raspberry squares are discharged. These are great for blending with the darker squares as well as reflecting light.
